This is just to record my personal experience on travel from Madurai to Chennai and this post is just for my future reference and not for any advice.
Took my Auto gear Alto K10 after filling its petrol tank with Rs. 1800. I have started from Madurai Bypass i.e from Sivagangai Road by 1 PM. Then Reached Chengalpattu by 6:15 PM which is 5:15 hours of travel. and to reach Thiruvanmiyur it took me another 1:30 hours. I was a lonely traveler and felt sleepy but music system and racing with some XUVs keep me alive..
Toll Gates in Travel from Madurai to Chennai:
Toll Plaza | Time | Fee |
Chittampatti | 1:20 PM | 75 |
Boothakudi | 2:13 PM | 70 |
Samayapuram | 2:42 PM | 40 |
Thirumandurai | 3:46 PM | 45 |
Sengurichi | 4:10 PM | 45 |
Ulundurpet | 4:55 PM | 75 |
Athur | 5:35 PM | 50 |
Paranur | 6:13 PM | 50 |
I was racing for some time and was riding slower for some time which depends on the competitions. Took break for 2 times for Lunch and a recess. A take diversion road was also there because of a firing in some lorry. The Road was not very traffic since Jallikkattu Protest turned its face as a violent protest on this day. Toll gates moved faster because of a low number of vehicles. Else it would have cost me another 30 mins more. Even though traffic started to increase after Athur Toll plaza. Have used AC to avoid air noise while racing so the petrol tank got emptied when reaching Guindy. The Travel has cost Rs.2000 of Petrol and Rs. 450 for Toll Gates. AC was turned on for half of the travel time.
This is not my first travel in Car/Bike. Will be adding more details on subsequent travels.
